This is the season for Christmas, baking cookies, hanging stockings, and of course putting up the Christmas tree, but what’s a Christmas tree without a Lego Train going around it? For many years we’ve never had a Christmas year without putting the Lego Train to go around the tree, this Lego Train set was the 4560 Railway Express, originally released in 1999. This train set includes three train cars, eighteen 12-volt train tracks, 9 minifigures, and a total of 642 pieces. Unlike the Lego 7898 Train set that uses batteries and a remote control, this set uses a speed regulator attached to a power transformer. That means instead of searching the house for AA batteries, all you have to do is just plug it in and go. It is perfect for any Christmas tree because the tree also uses a power cord for its multi-colored lights, so it is a perfect fit. The best things about this set besides the train itself are the accessories. It comes with three storage boxes to hold everything the train would need, like luggage, delicious pizza, refreshing drinks, and cold hard cash. How will they get those heavy boxes onto the train? With the Lego pick-up truck of course.
There are three different Train cars: one of them is the main engine where you put the train conductor; the other two are transport cars, which carry cars and Lego minifigures. The main engine car does not need batteries, and is ready to run as soon as you put it onto the train track. For added effect, it has a light up brick that will brighten the train tracks in the dark. The second transport car is the passenger car, featuring a television and dining area where passengers can snack on delicious pizza and drink refreshing beverages! The third car holds all the passengers’ one-seat vehicles, including the truck. Year after year we‘ve set this Lego train set up around the Christmas tree. You must be wondering, “Why aren’t you tired of it yet?” Because it wouldn’t be Christmas without it.
