Brickworld – Lake Michigan Ballroom Exhibit

Maersk Train in the flesh

The Lake Michigan Ballroom Exhibit was the first exhibit on the left part of the Westin hotel, by the registration lines. The lines, my goodness, we got there at Brickworld at about 10:30 AM, and the lines stretched all the way from the Ravinia ballroom, all the way to the end of the Botanic Garden hallway. We got there somewhat late, in convention time, because I stood there in line for about one hour just to get registered to go into the convention. Don’t get me started on the custom minifigure lines that are for another post. Anyway the Lake Michigan was an average sized room; about 77.4 x 128.6 feet across, there were a lot of great sets in there. Most of them were mediocre compared to the other rooms, but that doesn’t mean they’re bad! The Lake Michigan Ballroom was for beginner Brickworld enthusiasts, because most of the creators of the sets age range from 10 – 20 years old, while the other ones were mostly adults. This exhibit was alright, and was a great jump start to great convention.
